  • The sea is not an animationWater flows downhill, soaks into the sand and carries grains away. A wall that gets too wet slumps; a moat that drains does its job.
  • Twelve levels, two kinds of problemProtect your flag through a whole tide, or route the water into basins and make it stay there. Fewer grains moved means more stars.
  • Free play, alwaysEvery bucket mold you have unlocked, a full beach and a tide button. No goals unless you want them.
  • Made to be quietSand hisses under your finger, waves break and drain away, and a soft music bed sits under it all.
The tide washing over a sand wall, with foam pooling behind it. A flag planted on a sculpted mound, ready for the tide. A hydraulics level: channels cut to carry water into a basin.

The studio

Small games, built with care.

Hexmonger is an independent game studio in California. We make small games with deep systems underneath: sand that behaves like sand, worlds that generate themselves, and stories that ask you to understand rather than fight.

We have spent a long time building graphics, compilers and machine-learning infrastructure elsewhere. Now we put that into games that are gentle to play and honest about what they do.
